5.00 - Underframes for PARKSIDE DUNDAS Kits

These kits, produced at Pendon's request, provide fully detailed underframes to fit the relevant vans from the PARKSIDE DUNDAS range. They come complete with all brass wire and rod, whitemetal cast fittings and fixing screws. The kit is suitable for P4/S4, EM and 00.
There is a lot of work in building these kits, most of which is straightforward. Only the smaller brake details fall into the 'fiddly' category.  Wheels, bearings and the parkside Dundas kits are NOT included.

These are generally not specific to any particular wagon kit and are mainly intended for use with plastic kits. They can probably be used with whitemetal kits but I have not tried it yet.
They are designed to be simple and quick to build and in addition to the wagon body, the solebars, plastic axleguards and axlebox/spring mouldings are retained from the plastic kit. Brake gear is provided on the frets and this simply drops into slots in the subframe. Springing is by means of guitar wiire. a set of generic instructions covering all the kits is provided together with seperate, set specific diagrams. With the exception of the guitar wire springs only the flat etch is provided and various sizes of brass wire will be needed to complete. Some frets include a range of brake lever and vee arrangements to cater for variations. Please note that not all the bearing/spring carriers are inter-changeable between kits.  Each fret will make one wagon and the following subframes are available:
