NEW ITEMS IN THIS CATALOGUE ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Item 11.31: Folding Wiring Connection Fishplates:     Similar to my Bullhead Fishplates, these wrap around the rail and have a tab with a hole to allow the electrical dropper wire to be securely and discreetly soldered to the rail without a lot of farting about drilling holes in the web of the rail. They can easily be fitted after the track is laid and ballasted.
Discontinued Items.
Item 1.02: Dean Churchward Cross Cornered Brakes for 9' 0" Wheelbase Wagons
Item  1.08: Early Wooden Brakes and Fittings
Item  3.05: Additional Dean Churchward parts.

Notes on the Range of Components

  • The Masokits Masterbits Range of components has been designed to be added to other manufacturers' kits to provide a high standard of detailing. Unless otherwise stated, only the etched brass is provided. Wire, pins, screw, bolts etc. must be provided by yourself. The catalogue indicates what is needed.
  • The range also includes a variety of wagon and coach sprung suspension systems and a system of etched chairs to allow strong detailed track construction using copper clad sleepering.
  • The range also includes a locomotive springing and chassis construction system for P4 together with motor mounts.
  • Please note that all the components and kits listed in this catalogue are for 4mm scale. Some items are for P4/S4 or EM only.  Please check descriptions carefully before ordering.
  • Please note that many of these parts are very small and are therefore not generally suitable for those with very poor eyesight or for children under 14 years old.
  • A good standard of modelling skills and patience will be required for most items. The degree of difficulty is indicated where appropriate.
  • Details of known reviews in the modelling press are listed under the individual items.

Safety

  1. Many of the parts contained within this range are very small and care must be taken when soldering to avoid burning yourself when these are soldered in place. You should use fine pliers or self-gripping tweezers to hold such items during soldering operations.
  2. Please protect your eyes if you are getting your face close to the model when soldering to prevent splashes and fumes from heated flux from entering the eyes.
  3. The parts are etched in a variety of brass and stainless steel materials ranging from 0.005" to 0.015". Because the materials are thin, the frets and some of the parts have sharp edges and care must be taken when handling them.
  4. Whitemetal parts and solders contain heavy metals. It is essential that you thoroughly wash your hands after handling these and before consuming food or drink.
  5. Fluxes are both corrosive and poisonous. Avoid contact with bare skin. Wash any splashes off. Wash hands thoroughly after use and before consuming food or drink.
  6. Cyano-acrylic and two part epoxy glues must be handled with care to avoid contact with skin. Release agent for cyano-acrylic glue is readily available from stores where these glues are sold and should be kept close at hand when using these glues. Wash off immediately any of these glues which comes into contact with skin.
  7. Thoroughly read manufacturers instructions for all glues, solvents and solders.
  8. Seek medical attention immediately should any injury occur.

Please order your parts using the numbering system now incorporated in this catalogue and please state which  catalogue number you are ordering from.  I repeatedly receive orders with incorrectly made out cheques, insufficient money included or descriptions of goods which do not accord with those in this catalogue. I even receive orders for items I do not sell!

In the past I have sent out goods where insufficient money was included to cover the cost of the order with a note requesting the additional money. In the last year, most of these requests have been ignored by the recipients of the goods. So in future, incorrect cheques and cheques for insufficient money to cover the costs will be returned to the customer.

Please allow 28 days for delivery. As a result of getting bouncy cheques in recent years, I now wait for cheques to clear BEFORE sending out orders. This means that orders will now take longer to reach you.

Overseas Orders:
About 75% of overseas orders I receive are a right muddle (random amounts of money for unspecified and indeterminate numbers of parts; postage weights not calculated and packaging weight not included and so on and so on). Such orders often take a great deal of time to sort out and as far as I am concerned, are more trouble than they are worth. So if you want me to continue handling overseas orders, please make your orders precise and clear and work out the money accurately. If not, I shall withdraw the overseas service.
